If the Big XII was thinking about kicking Baylor out

then I would think the Big XII would still be leery about adding BYU because of its "no Sunday" policy. Even if the Big XII plays all of its conference championship games on a Saturday, there is a possibility that the game may need to be postpone until Sunday for a variety of reasons (i.e. lightning, earthquake, rain, etc.). The last thing the Big XII and its media partners want to be in is to have their televised conference championship game cancelled because BYU is participating and the game was postponed (for whatever) until Sunday. If you want to complicate matters, then imagine their reaction if BYU was a contender for a Playoff spot and the forfeit cost the Big XII an opportunity to be represented in the Playoff. If the Big XII is going to replace Baylor with anyone, then it may go with Houston, Memphis, or SMU.
